History
Honda entered the CART series in 1994 and, after initial struggles, became a dominant force in open-wheel racing. By 1996, Honda engines were powering championship-winning teams, securing six consecutive Manufacturers' Championships from 1996 to 2001. Their engineering advancements and success in CART boosted Honda's reputation for performance and reliability, especially in North America and Japan. Honda’s involvement helped grow CART’s international appeal until the series struggled financially and merged into the IndyCar Series in 2008. Today, Honda remains a key engine supplier in IndyCar, carrying forward the legacy they established in CART.
